I am sensing your answer is YES, then HIT song is a must for you. Desire it, dream it, speak it, pray it, work it. Every artiste needs Hit songs to gain influence. Influence is very important for what ever audience you think you are called to minister to. No matter how small they are.
Some of you have been brainwashed to think that when you don’t desire global stage and influence, that shows your message or ministry is spiritual and authentic. You need knowledge.
Whatever your message or ministry is, the more people it can get to or reach, the more lives it will BLESS. Like a dear friend would always say, If your song can bless 10 people, It can Bless 1000, 100000000000000 etc.
Imagine if Sinach had your kind of mentality about Influence or imagine if she’s been brainwashed to believe that desiring Hits are carnal, Way Maker would probably not be a HIT song today. Her song “Way Maker” has been a blessing to the whole world. Covered in multiple languages around the world and Done by top gospel brands in the world.
You probably want to argue that she didn’t want to make a hit when she was writing the song, lol..
Listen, God gives a song, what the song becomes is up to you. When God gives a song it can either be just another song or a super HIT. While i agree that sinach may not set out to create a hit with way maker, but she is somebody that desires global influence and this reflects in all her songs, from delivery, diction, sound and overall production. She puts in her all into the work to match the international standards.
Question is, If you were the one that God gave the song “Way Maker” to, what would have happened to the song? Would it have Blessed the world like Sinach did, or would it have been just another song? Would it have even been a HIT in Lagos? Let alone Nigeria or the world. Think about those songs you have written, there could be many more “way makers” in the world from you but religious foolishness, Ignorance and Deep has robbed you of common sense to make the Best of your songs.
Greatness is first a mindset before results.
If you don’t desire Hit songs, every song will be just another song to you. You won’t go extra mile for it and put in all the work it requires.
Desire to create HIT SONGS, work on every song with the mindset that it is a potential HIT, invest in it and PROMOTE it like it is a potential HIT Song. If your mindset is wrong, You can not see certain results. HIT SONGS are never a product of LUCK or GRACE as you might think, If you stumble on a HIT song by LUCK, you will struggle all through your music ministry until you lose relevance.
This is why you see some artistes drop Hit song ten years ago and ten years later, they are struggling and can’t drop any hits. I know you know them so no need to mention their names.
You either create Hit songs, Blow, become relevant and influential in music or continue to struggle and complain about the church and pastors. The choice is yours. My prayer always is that God will grant the desires of those who want to Blow and also grant the desires of those who dont want to Blow and help both fulfil the ministry in their hearts.
