Over the week the Lead Pastor and president of the David Christian Center, Amuwo Odofin, Festac Town dropped words on his Instagram page which suggested a campaign and move to clean up Amuwo vicinity where the church is situated,
“We are so excited about this opportunity to be the best for our community!
Just 3 days to go.
Join us.”
One would have thought this must be a joke and one day to the “Clean Up Amuwo Project” he takes on to Instagram again calling for many to join in,
“It’s in a few hours guys let’s come out and make a difference…… We are not trying to be the best church IN the community but the best church FOR the community”
And this morning, members of the David Christian Center where found on the streets of Amuwo led by the man of God, Pst. Kingsley Okonkwo cleaning up the streets and packing dirt into trucks. Much more than the activity itself was the profound undeniable joy on the faces of the participants as they engaged in the project.
This surely is an example to follow, not for show biz but as patriotic citizens and responsible Christians living in a nation.
